A meeting of the Applied Algebra and Geometry Research Network

About the Workshop

This two-day meeting is being held immediately before the SIAM Conference on Applied Algebraic Geometry (AG27), which will take place in Osnabrück, Germany, July 19-23, 2027.

The workshop brings together Martin’s friends, colleagues, collaborators, and members of the mathematical community to celebrate his life and honour his mathematical contributions.

Martin Helmer was a Royal Society Wolfson Fellow and Senior Lecturer in Applied Algebra at Swansea University. Martin's research included computational, theoretical, and applied algebraic geometry, with particular interests in intersection theory, polynomial system solving, and combinatorial and real algebraic geometry.

The workshop will provide an opportunity to share mathematics, memories, and appreciation for a deeply valued colleague and friend.
